The Inka Trail (or is it trial?) You can arrive at Machu Picchu, Peru one of two ways. Train, or a four day trek. I choose the four day trek. Maybe next time I will take the train. This was a four day hike (or was it a forced march?) that ended up at the Sun Gate at the top of Machu Picchu. This was a fantastic way to get to the sacred city, hiking through the sacred valley, and seeing the sacred river. The hike along the Inka Trail was almost more spectacular than the sacred city itself, but more tiring. The Inka trail (also know as the Inca Trail) offered a plethora of sights, visions, altitudes, and attitudes. It was one of the highlights of my life that I got to share with my dad and my nephew. Take a look at the slide show (click arrows). Afterwards, take a tour of Machu Picchu. Peace. Please wait for pictures to load. Click on the slideshow to enlarge the picture. The Beginning
The Inka Trail. This was the starting point of what would be a four day trek (more than just a hike) through various cloud forests; mountain passes; mud and rain; and glorious views.
